Bibliophiles Adult Book Club November Meeting

The Bibliophiles Adult Book Club will meet next Wednesday November 19th to discuss Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. Before Gone Girl, there was Rebecca! Copies are still available at the library to borrow, it’s not too late to get in on what promises to be an interesting discussion of this 1930s era thriller.
Pins and Needles Group Begins Again!

The Daland Memorial Library’s knitting/crafts group Pins and Needles is up and running once again! The group will meet this Thursday, November 6th from 6:30-8:00pm. Going forward, the group will be meeting the first Thursday of every month from 6:30-8:00pm. Children 8+ are welcome. No experience is needed. Please bring a beginner project for your child if they would like to learn. Not a knitter? Bring whatever crafty project you’re working on, and join in the conversation! Mont Vernon resident Ana Barrett will be the host for this group. Registration is not necessary.

Do you want to connect with family and friends on Facebook, but need some help getting started? Please join us at our Facebook 101 class on Saturday October 25th at 10:00-11:00am. Amy Wyman will lead you through setting up an account and some basics like posting, sharing photos, groups and privacy settings. Participants can bring a laptop or tablet to follow along with Amy’s presentation or just attend for the information. Registration is required, space is limited. Jack O’ Lantern Display

Bring your carved pumpkin to the library on Friday, October 31st and add it to our annual library jack o’ lantern display for all of Mont Vernon to see. Happy, scary, big or small; drop off your pumpkin and we’ll light them all! Drop off pumpkins any time on Halloween.
Fall Poetry Group

The adult poetry group is back for the fall with a meeting on Wednesday, October 15th at 7:00pm. Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of work to share with the group or a special poem about fall. Refreshments will be served.
