A letter from the Director:

Thank you for your patience during the COVID-19 health crisis. Closing the library building was a difficult but necessary decision to protect the health of patrons, staff, and ultimately our community.  Together with guidance from the NH State Library Reopening Task Force, the Library Trustees and staff have developed a phased reopening plan that has already begun.  We are currently in Phase One and have started to accept returned materials in the outside drop box.  After shutting down in March, we had over 700 materials circulating in the community.  It’s now time to accept those returns, quarantine, and clean them before returning them to the shelves.  We have also evaluated our very small space to determine how we could complete our mission to provide materials and still follow social distancing rules.  To accomplish this, we have cleared the entrance way and relocated the Young Adult collection area and added back the original breezeway doors to create an empty, open space for distribution of materials through Curbside Pickup. PPE in the form of masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer has been secured for staff and patrons. Phase Two will begin when the Governor drops the Stay at Home order. Curbside Pickup was a success before we closed, and will reopen when this criteria is met.  The building will be staffed for the summer with new hours. Curbside Pick Up will be available during all open hours.  It is our intention to stay in this phase and keep the building closed until measured results come through to determine the health of our community.  Reopening the building fully is in our future but will be at the discretion of the Library Trustees. We look forward to the day when we can again be freely open with programs, meetings, and visitors.  Until then, keep reading and be sure to check the library website for updated information! Thank you for your understanding. Be well!
