Tree Lighting Craft at the Daland Memorial Library

Come to the Library on Saturday November 29th to create a Holiday Lantern just in time for the Mont Vernon tree lighting ceremony later that evening! Craft times are 10am, 11am, Noon and 1pm. Ages 6 and up.
Registration is required, spaces are limited!
Call 673-7888 to reserve a spot today. This activity is the December “Super Saturday” craft, and has been moved up a week to match up with the new Tree Lighting Ceremony date. There will be no Super Saturday activity on Saturday December 6th.

Surprise Super Saturday was lots of fun!
“What was the SURPRISE?” you ask… well, we had two!
- our activity — Push Pin Poetry, to celebrate National Poetry Month
- our new Children’s Program Director — Sarah introduced the kids to JoAnn Kitchel before we all had some fun with poetry!
Miss. Sarah talked with the kids about poetry, read a few poems and then we had Miss. Mary Katherine and Miss. JoAnn recite their favorite kid poems from memory! What a treat! The kids got down to business and started clipping out words that they ended up using to create poems on their push-pin poetry boards.
If you missed the action and would like to try your hand at Push-Pin Poetry, we’ll have the board up in the library this week! Also, Sarah will post the word sheets and instructions so you can recreate this fun activity at home.
